Way to go everyone! We've made it possible to get this new ad run on cable in Florida! A big theme last night during the MSNBC debate was the FairTax and the economy. That is exactly what this advertisement is all about!

Huckabee said "We'll keep our jobs and paychecks"

I don't think Huckabee has a good grasp on the economy. Think about what he is saying, "Vote for me and I will fire 150,000 IRS employees right off the bat." Especially when the USA only created 42,000 jobs in November of 2007.

That is not a sound economic policy in the face of a recession. Imagine all the hundreds of thousands of families that rely on tax services for a livelihood that will now not have a job. Sure we all dislike the IRS, but that puts a lot of people in the unemployment line.

One reason Huckabee claims the "Fair Tax" is a good idea is because hookers, drug dealers will start paying the consumption tax. But this group is a tiny sliver of the American population and is not a good reason to switch to a so called "Fair Tax".

There is NO COUNTRY in the world that has ever run its government on a consumption tax. Most economists estimate it will really take a tax up to 50% to break even.

Finally, I have a wife and three kids and am a student. My effective tax rate is 7% right now. Huckabee wants to give me a 16% tax increase. That is a big NO for me. Huckabee is not right for the economy.

I hope you'll join me and vote for a candidate that understands economics. Have a great day.
