Washington Briefing & FRC Straw Polll

Good afternoon everyone!

First of all welcome to all my new readers! Wow. Thanks for stopping by. Sorry I only posted once yesterday. I was sort of lethargic. Yesterday was the one-year anniversary of my Grandfather's passing after losing his valiant fight with cancer.

Anyways...back to the topic at hand. I know I have written about this already and I am going to write it again but I cannot stress the importance of the Washington Briefing and the FRC Straw Poll that is attached to the event. These are the Values voters folks. MIKE HUCKABEE MUST WIN THIS STRAW POLL!!! The Evangelicals are waiting until late October to get behind a candidate and this poll is the mandate they are waiting for. Combine a win in this poll with his victory in the Values Voters' Debate poll and you will get key endorsements for Huckabee quicker than you bat an eye.

First of all if you can do so please head on up to DC on October 19-20 for the Briefing. Huck is speaking on Saturday morning (this is an update from a previous post when the schedule had Mike speak on Friday). If you are able to head on up there, K Street Mole For Huckabee has Three Rules to follow when lobbying for Huckabee (these can be used for everyone going door-to-door in a grassroots effort as well): Don't Be A Single Issue Voter, Dress For Success, & Find Your Target Audience.

I do realize that many will not be able to attend. I am one of those people. Well you can still make a difference. You can vote in the straw poll that is so important online! You will have to join the FRC (Family Research Council) but you can do so for only $1 (A Buck For Huck). You can join and vote HERE. Even more important than your vote is getting others to join you. Download a form here you can use to recruit others to join our chorus!

We have about 8-9 days to make a difference. Let's get moving people!

Some thoughts on the Debate Yesterday - If that's What You Want To Call It

Good Morning!

Assuming Blogger is going to be nice to me today, I have some additional thoughts on the CNBC debate yesterday - if you want to call it that.

1. First of all you have to give kudos to CNBC for starting the debate right away. Let the intros and the publicity photos get out of the way before the cameras roll for TV. I have to give them that.

2. Correct me if I am wrong here but the debate lasted tow-full hours. I think that is the longest of the televised debates thus far. If they had that long to start with why didn't they ask each question to each candidate and at least try to make it fair?

3. Maybe Rudy is reading this blog. I didn't see him take off his glasses when answering a question.

4. Speaking of Rudy, was the question to him about the Yankees and their managerial situation really necessary? What does that have to do with anything anywhere near important to running this country?

5. Okay so Fred got the first and the last word. Fine. This was his first debate. But he was asked way too many questions. He has not shown up at any other debate. He didn't deserve the increased amount of airtime compared to many of the other candidates who have been there since day one. Not that Fred did very well. I was not impressed with him at all. For someone who is supposed to be "The New Ronald Regan" he sure doesn't communicate very well.

6. Another debate and another FairTax question for Huckabee. Based on his unfair ratio of questions you think the MSM (Main Stream Media) is afraid of him but they keep asking him questions about the FairTax and everytime they do more and more FairTaxers jump on his bandwagon. Thank you!

7. One of the most colorful exchange was between Mitt and Rudy on the Line-item-veto. Mitt supports it and used it in Mass. Rudy took Bill Clinton to court over it arguing it was unconstitutional. Later McCain regretted not jumping in the fray because he supports the current "Line Item Veto" legislation. Rudy and Mitt, you can fight and bicker all you want...while you watch Mike Huckabee overtake you!

8. Overall it was the worst debate of the entire series. But what are you expecting of CNBC/MSNBC?

Huckabee's Cameo Appearance on the "Rudy McRomneyson" Show A Success!

First of all I'd like to thank Blogger for finally publishing my posts this evening hours after I wrote them! I really appreciated the frustration! (Note Sarcasm)

I would like to sincerely thank Kerry (you know her as "OneMom") for offering to publish me tonight if I couldn't find our how to fix my problem. I really appreciate it! She did some great liveblogging this afternoon and we all had a great sounding board for all of our frustrations with blogging and the debate.

I can't take credit for what I called the debate in the title tonight. "Students For Huckabee" came up with that one during the Bloggers Call tonight (which I missed most of). Mike's appearance was really "Cameo" in nature compared to everyone else. As you can see below I was pissed off with that. Mike was definitely not getting a fair amount of face time this afternoon.

However it does not seem to matter too much. Remember the old adage "Quality, not Quantity?" Mike Huckabee took advantage of the time he did have! Each time Mike was able to open his mouth he scored points. It was almost a given that Ron Paul would win the post-debate poll (and yes he did) but yet again Mike Huckabee took 2nd place. Despite not a lot of face time, Mike says that the website has had record traffic today (and he is right because there were times where I could not access the site this afternoon). There was a goal of 300 donations today and by the time the debate was over, we had 350 and the new goal is 600 by midnight tonight. Currently there have been 470 with about one hour and 15 minutes to go.

I'll have some more thoughts on the debate tomorrow morning, along with a roundup from the blogosphere. It has definitely been one of those days. Thanks for bearing with me folks!

THIS DEBATE IS NO FAIR!!!

Right now Blogger is not posting the post I wrote this morning. and i don't know if it will publish this one either but I have to write it.

I am sitting here and watching this debate on CNBC and I am madder than a hornet. Almost everyone else on the stage is being asked questions or being allowed to comment. Mike Huckabee is not getting a fair shake here. This is absolutely ridiculous! Just a second ago Mike got to speak for a third time in an hour while others have spoke for minutes upon minutes at a time. Even Tancredo, Paul, and Hunter have gotten more air-time here. This is insane.

Pre-Debate Roundup Time! Yeeee Haw!

Well we're less than three hours away from the next debate and it should be a doozy! All the candidates will be front and center this time around, including Fred who will participate for the first time. It all goes down at 4 PM Eastern on CNBC. I know a lot of you will be at work (especially those of you out West) so the debate will be able to be seen online. Just follow this link. Watching it online will allow you to vote in the post-debate poll as well. Let's show those Ron Paul people who's boss!

Speaking of the debate there is a fundraising goal surrounding it. The goal today is 300 donators. The goal is off and running with 275 left to get. I think we are going to smash this one. You can help HERE

OKforHuckabee has the latest poll numbers here and they are looking good! Speaking of the new Gallup Poll, here are the statistics and they are rather interesting, even if you are just watching.

WMC TV in Memphis passes along an AP story "Mike Huckabee Forcasts Win in Iowa"

Huckabee is rising and Purple Wombats is taking notice.

Huckabee officially denounces the "Law of the Seas" UN Treaty.

Janet Folger is behind Huck and puts all conservatives on notice that they need to support him too.

Bob Vander Plaats checks in and officially debunks the rumors surrounding him.

That's all for now. Catch ya later!

BREAKING - Huckabee Campaign Warns of Hoax

The Des Moines Resgister is reporting tonight that an E-mail is circulating that claims that Bob Vander Plaats, Mike's chairmen in Iowa, is resigning to support Romney. The article is claiming that it is a hoax. READ IT HERE.

FRC Straw Poll Voter Drive

Head on over to I Heart Huckabee. They are doing a FRC Straw Poll voter Drive and doing a great job!

If He Had To Vote Today Ted Nugent Would Vote For.....

I knew getting the Glenn Beck E-mails were worth my time. On today's Glenn Beck show there was an interview he did with Ted Nugent. Obviously guns and the 2nd Amendment were a key part of the interview, but Glenn did ask who Ted would vote for "if he had a gun pointed at his head". And guess who Ted said?

MIKE HUCKABEE!!

You can read the transcript of the interview HERE

WE DID IT!

Congratulations everyone! We were able to match the money raised in the fundraiser last night with an hour and 28 dollars to spare! So over this past weekend, roughly $40,000 were raised by the Mike Huckabee campaign! Way to go everyone!
