When You Wish Upon A Star (Parker) Mike Huckabee Scores an Endorsement!!

Remember this subtle post from almost a month ago? Well I can finally shout this news to the heavens:

News Release: Mike Huckabee Receives “Star” Endorsement from Ms. Star Parker

November 16, 2007

Little Rock, AR – Former Arkansas Governor and Presidential Candidate Mike Huckabee adds Ms. Star Parker to the growing list of endorsements by members of the faith community. Ms. Parker is founder and president of CURE*, Coalition on Urban Renewal and Education, a national conservative think tank focused on breaking the cycle of poverty.

“I’ve known Ms. Parker for more than ten years and I have come to admire her character and determination,” Huckabee said. “I’m proud to have her support because we share many of the same views on faith and family.”

“America is at a crossroads and this country needs a president with the moral clarity to understand what is wrong at its core,” Parker said. “Mike Huckabee has the passion and vision to get America back on track toward a civil, just, and virtuous society.”

Parker is a leading social policy consultant and media commentator, the author of three books and a weekly nationally syndicated newspaper column. She is widely recognized for her successful transition from being single welfare mother to an entrepreneur, civic leader and social activist.

A Three Way Tie For 2nd Nationally!

Rasmussen jusst issued their daily GOP Tracking Poll. While Mike Huckabee has not hit another high in the poll numbers-wise. Huck is now tied for 2nd Nationally (at 12 %) with Romney and Thompson. McCain is in 5th at 11% Rudy leads the field by over 15%. Very interesting numbers today!

HUCK BREAKS DOUBLE DIGITS IN FLORIDA!!

Add Florida to the list of states where Mike Huckabee is polling at double digits (Iowa, South Carolina, & Texas)! Strategic Vision issued a new poll in Florida this morning. Mike is now at 10 % in the Sunshine State (up 5% from their poll last month). You can view all the info HERE. This confirms the national trend of Mike Huckabee's rising poll numbers! Rudy leads here and this is the only early state where he is currently leading in. The numbers here look similar to the lead that mitt Romney had in Iowa a few months ago. There are a few months left until Florida and as Mike gains momentum he should be able to cut into the lead there. There are tons of FairTax supporters in Florida. They MUST know that Mike supports their...no...OUR initiative.

EDIT - The Rasmussen poll I was referring to from Iowa in this space is out. The numbers are lower than the other polls this week but are higher than he has done in this poll to date. Remember that Mitt has spent thousands upon thousands of dollars in ad buys. Mike has spent $0! That is about to change. The Hawkeye State will see the first Mike Huckabee TV ads next week. We've still got lots of work to do. WE CAN GET IT DONE!!

Dedication

True dedication. I had no idea what that meant until today. Lisa Chambers & I with Gwinnett County For Mike Huckabee, spent one hour at the busy intersection of Lawrenceville-Suwanee and Highway 120 in Lawrenceville, GA waving Mike Huckabee signs. Fortunately we got some much needed rain down here as a cold front raced through Wednesday night. However the front brought some cold weather for this part of the country.

After a nice lunch at IHOP Lisa dropped me off at my corner and she drove to hers (the intersection is really wide). I could tell already that this was indeed a challenge. The temperature was no higher than 50 degrees. To make matters worse it was quite breezy and the winds gusted several times (which meant the wind chill made it feel more like freezing). I had two official signs and another one advertising the campaign website (which Lisa made). Fortunately the sign Lisa made was rigid enough for me to hold onto however I had to use it as a buffer for the other two signs or they would have blown away onto the street to be run over (or cause an accident).

How was the response? Lisa said that she got a lot of thumbs up from the cars that passed. I suppose that things were the same at my corner but I can't see well enough to tell those things. I did get several honks from cars that went by, and a huge blast from a Rooms to Go truck!

Honestly my feelings are mixed. I am glad that we made some kind of impact out there. However I am somewhat disappointed that there were not more of us. I would have liked to know the feedback I was getting that I couldn't see. At times I felt lonely out there especially when no one was honking at me and the wind was howling and doing its best to knock me down. My morale was really low by the time Lisa picked me back up and dropped me off at my house. I was freezing. In fact I am still shivering even in my warm room. Do I regret it at all? No, of course not! Would I do it again? Yes! But for now I'm going to snuggle in my warm bed and get some sleep. My feet are killing me!

Good night!

PS: Thanks Lisa for your help today! It is always a pleasure working beside you in our efforts to get Mike elected!

IOWA GETS EVEN CLOSER - HUCK TO 24%!!

Okay I had to post this before I go. the Iowa race is getting even closer this morning according to the new American Research Group poll in the Hawkeye state among GOP Caucus goers. Here are the latest stats Mike now trails Mitt Romney by only 2 percentage points! The margin of error is 4% which means this is the first poll that Mike is leading Iowa in the margin of error!! We're still waiting for a Rasmussen poll from Iowa this week.

GREAT NEWS!!!

LET'S ROLL - Huck's Army Special Forces Formed!

Good morning!

I don't know about you but it will be a busy day for me. It is finally the 15th of November and that means it's time to roll out! this afternoon, Lisa Chambers, myself, and a few others from Gwinnett County for Mike Huckabee will be meeting together for lunch and afterwards hitting the streets with our Huckabee signs! During lunch we will have plenty to talk about...even more than I thought yesterday!

A few days back I was invited to a conference call. If you have read this blog for a few months I have talked about the Blogger's calls with Mike Huckabee. This was different and perhaps more important. The conference call was about the formation of the Special Forces of Huck's Army.

Our General is a fine man from Kentucky named Bill. He made his mind up about Mike Huckabee during a CNN Debate when Mike was asked about Evolution by Wolf Blitzer. He spent a month in Iowa before the Straw Poll and was quite an asset to the operations there and the eventual 2nd place finish there back in August. Other than that he has lots of experience with managing large groups of people, he once managed a group of 40,000 at his last job before he retired. We definitely have a competent leader!

I was really not sure what to expect out of the call and I suppose that is quite appropriate. I've been doing that a lot lately. I didn't anticipate what this blog would become, how much on fire I would get for Mike Huckabee, or what would happen with the Gwinnett County Meetup group either. It's all been a leap of faith for me.

After introducing himself we went around the country and introduced ourselves to each other. We all were somewhat familiar with each other from the Huck's Army Forum. I don't know what the camaraderie is like with supporters of any other campaign but I don't think they can match our ability to become instant friends and our sincere adoration for Mike. What might have been quite rigid in other camps was very laid back and informal but we did not lose sight of our goal.

I am waiting a transcript of the call from some others on the forum. However the site is still down as it is being worked on for a re-launch to coincide with the Special-Forces operation kickoff. The site was to be ready at 0800 (8 AM Eastern) but to this point hasn't come back online yet. I will share notes from the call later since I don't think I can do them justice. What we talked about was of the utmost importance. Our first goal is of course to get Mike a win in Iowa and then spread operations all over the country.

What I did find out, to my excitement, that we, Huck's Army is a member of Team 100! For those who are not aware there is a Team of 100 people that are raising $100,000 each for the Mike Huckabee campaign by the end of December. If you do the math that equals $10 Million by the end of 4th Quarter! Huck's Army has been given a donor code of 160. We've been using that code for a few weeks now and we are already the Top Rated donor code!

I don't have too much time to talk this morning. Please check back this evening for more. I hope to have the notes from the call to share. This is not a covert operation anymore! I will also have pictures from the Sign Waving. Also expected today is a third poll from Iowa that will confirm the surge for Mike there. Oh and I will have news about Mike's first ad buy in the Hawkeye state as well!

LET'S ROLL TROOPS!!

CALL TO ACTION - CONTACT THE IOWA RIGHT TO LIFE COMMITTEE!!!

The following is a message I have received this afternoon. I also got a similar message from Georgians For Huckabee. If we can ge the IRLC to break ranks with the NRLC it would be extremely huge!

Attention Mike Huckabee Supporter:

(In case you haven't heard)

Last night I spoke with a representative with the Iowa Right to Life Committee. He told me that they have not yet endorsed a candidate, and may not do so during the primaries. However, their board is meeting Monday ( 11/18 ) and is likely to discuss this VERY IMPORTANT issue at that time.

An endorsement for Huckabee from the Iowa Right to Life Committee would be HUGE. We need to be calling, faxing, and emailing their leaders throughout the rest of the week and into the weekend to make sure that they hear our voices loud and clear. After you've done your part, pass this information on to all of your friends, and encourage them to do the same.

It's time for Mike Huckabee supporters to take a stand for LIFE!

Here are those contacts:

Iowa Right to Life Committee
Phone: 515-244-1012
Fax: 515-244-1018

Two other important contacts to call and email:

Charles Burke
De Witt Right to Life Christians

Meg Crawford
Crest Area for Life

Mr. Burke and Mrs. Crawford were recently quoted as saying that they are still uncertain about whom to endorse. THEY NEED TO HEAR FROM US!!! Here's the article that quoted them:

Make sure and be VERY RESPECTFUL in all of your emails, faxes, and phone calls. These are friends who have not yet made any decisions. We need to represent Mike well. But, whatever you do, make sure that you speak out on Mike's behalf. God Bless!

GWINNETT COUNTY FOR MIKE HUCKABEE NOW 25 MEMBERS STRONG!!

Back on October 6th I founded the Gwinnett County For Mike Huckabee Meetup group. It was a leap of faith for me. I did not feel I was the best person suited to lead in this fashion. However I did know that a group needed to be started in my area, and especially in Metro Atlanta area before it got too late. Almost a month later we are 25 members strong! It appears I am in this for the long haul! Our next meeting will be tomorrow afternoon for lunch at the local IHOP and after that we will be doing our "15 Minutes for Mike" as we wave signs at the busy intersection of Lawrenceville-Suwanee and Highway 120. What's up for us after tomorrow? It will probably be "Shout About Mike Day" on Wednesday November 28th. Stay tuned for pictures and a writeup about tomorrow's event tomorrow evening. I won't be home until late in the day due to other activities I have going on after the Meet.

POLLS - Huck hitting highs in Florida, Nevada, South Carolina

The News is looking very good poll-wise right now for Mike Huckabee. With the latest numbers coming in for Iowa I decided to check the status for other states and the surge continues! Mike is polling at his highest level in several states: Florida (9%), South Carolina (12%), and even in Nevada (5%)! New poll numbers should come in for Michigan pretty soon, maybe even later this week and I think he will be running higher there too since Mike just campaigned there. There is one other poll from Iowa that just came out. Even though it is not quite as high as the CBS/NYT poll, Strategic Vision has Mike at 19% in Iowa (higher than he has polled in that one ever!)

MIKE HUCKABEE TOPS 20% IN IOWA!!!

The Mike Huckabee surge is continuing in Iowa and he has now topped 20%!! this is according to the latest CBS News/New York Times poll in Iowa where to former Governor of Arkansas is in 2nd place, behind Romney at 21% (his highest showing in the state thus far!) READ ABOUT IT HERE The other big news is on the Democrat side in Iowa and the race is tightening up there too. The plot thickens!
